The 5th Chicagoland Midwest Retina Update meeting was held on May 16, 2015 at the Swissotel Chicago. This year’s event proved to be a great success and was well attended by various healthcare professionals such as retina specialists, general ophthalmologists, optometrists, residents, and fellows.
The meeting was jointly sponsored by Chicagoland Eye & Retina Foundation and Academy for Continued Healthcare Learning with a combined faculty for vitreoretinal surgery private practice who have former and present academic affiliations with current and future leaders of academic vitreoretinal surgery in a relaxed and interactive setting. In addition to many pertinent surgical retina topics, the meeting agenda was designed to cover recent developments and research in the management of age-related macular degeneration and retinal vascular disease, including diabetic retinopathy, vein occlusions, and uveitis. The keynote lecture covered today’s healthcare reform from a “Dollars & Sense” perspective.
